Rainbow in Yosemite Falls

This was the scene driving in to work this morning, and I had to pull over and get a quick picture. With the warm temperatures, the falls are flowing and in the morning the spray is lit with rainbow colors. It’s just a matter of finding the right angle. This picture was taken around 8:15am from the Sentinel Bridge pull-out.

Beautiful shot! The scenery on my way to work doesn’t compare. Not by a mile. It also looks like the warmer weather has sent away the snow, at least until the next storm.
Thanks, David! I suspect the people that pulled up just as I was leaving – the ones with the giant tripods and big white lenses – got better shots, but we all got to see the same rainbow!
There is still snow to be found – I’m planning a half-ski day at Badger Pass this afternoon, but the warmer temps are so luxurious, I won’t be surprised to see people skiing in T-shirts. My favorite local band is playing there on Sunday too, so it’s a snow-play weekend all around for me. That said, the warm temps are definitely fueling big waterfalls at the expense of the snowpack. I hope it snows again soon.
